Portrait Painters Show
The Royal Society of Portrait Painters Annual Exhibition opened at The Mall Galleries in London last Thursday and continues until 13 May 2007. I hope the general standard is better than that of Brendan Kelly's dire painting of Sir Viv Richards, which seems to have been copied from a badly distorted photo. Take photography lessons, Brendan. Nobody except you sticks their camera lens within a foot of a subject's nose. Admission £2.50, concessions £1.50.

Fabulous painting. You have no idea what you are talking about. Let alone qualified to make such rude judgments on such an acclaimed artist. You can't even spell the artist's name properly.
Brendan Kelly's portrait of Sir Viv Richards is superb. Coxcroft Art can't appreciate a master - let alone spell his name properly!
Having taken another look at this portrait, I see no reason to change my opinion. It's a lousy painting taken from a distorted photo.
There are a lot of "acclaimed" artists who paint badly. I go on my own opinion, not second-hand ones. I will update his name though.
