Paolo Fiammingo: Amori

Paolo Fiammingo's Amori: Amore Reciproco (1585/89) is one of the exhibits in the Kunsthalle Wien’s autumn biggy: True Romance: Allegories of Love from the Renaissance to the Present, from 5 October 2007 to 3 February 2008. Looks more like an orgy to me. Suspect anatomy too, and very dubious perspective. Maybe a Muslim suicide bomber's notion of Heaven? The bad news is that the exhibition also includes modern works by the likes of Tracey Emin. I wouldn't walk down the road to see her tosh, let alone visit Vienna.
