Yesterday, Mayor Red Ken unveiled Thomas Schutte's Model for a Hotel 2007 on Trafalgar Square's vacant plinth. A BBC TV London interviewer elicited comments from onlookers such as "Garish", "Out of keeping" and "Is it finished yet?". Yup. In position, this plastic-looking abstract is even worse than I thought when I first saw it (CLICK). Must Londoners really put up with this mess for 18 months? Come on pigeons: bombard it! Plaster it with guano.
