New Hokusai Record

Christie's London sale of two collections of Japanese art and design produced a world auction record for a Japanese print: Katsushika Hokusai's Gaifu Kaisei [South Wind, Clear Weather], also known as Pink Fuji or Red Fuji, went for £288,500. Note: there are brighter, more colourful versions of this print on the Internet, but this is the one Christie's sold.
