Picasso Net News

Mirta Benavente - Atrapado en SueñosToday I received the December e-news from Spanish arts website PicassoNet.com - unfortunate name - showing samples of work by its newly joined artists. I noticed this intriguing thumbnail of a piece by Mirta Benavente: Atrapado en Sueños. Painting? Relief sculpture? Metal engraving? I visited Mirta's website page (title link) to find out. The answer: "mixed techniques". So I'm none the wiser. Oh well.

Hola, Mirta
For my English readers (and me) here's the Babel Fish translation of your message:

"Hello Coxsoft, I am the Catched author of in Sueños and I write you for contarte that is a painting (tecnica Mixed) that is based on acrilico, dust of marmol, guesso and vinilica tail. I send a greeting to you. Mirta Benavente."

Thank you for the explanation. In English, "tecnica Mixta" = Mixed Media. Painting translated correctly; "acrilico" = acrylic, "guesso" = gesso, a type of ground. The other media have me completely fogged. They sound like ingredients the three witches in Shakespeare's Macbeth might have put into their cauldron! At a guess you sprinkled dust or sand on the wet painting to give it texture. Anyway, it's a painting using mixed media. Thanks again.

Babel Fish:
Gracias otra vez.
