The BBC likes to think of itself as a patron of the arts. Music, nature documentaries and claymation, yes; but it's a clueless corporation when confronted by Art. It thinks French Impressionism is the latest craze, sucks up to no-talent big names in the Brit. Anti-art Establishment and files art news stories under Entertainment with the usual girlie trivia about drug-crazed celebs. Anyway, it's teamed up with that scourge of genuine artistic talent the Arts Council to explore creativity in Merry Olde England.
