Campaign Against PC

The British Sociological Association - slogan: Giving Sociology a Voice (Yabba dabba doo white trash whoops hush my mouth every man a potential rapist whoops functionalism wow scientific methodology eh?) - has issued inoffensive terms to replace politically incorrect ones. With regard to art, it dictates we must replace "Old masters" with "Classic art". Utter tosh! For a start that should be "artists", not "art"; replacing persons with a thing doesn't make sense. Classicism or neoclassicism takes its inspiration from the art of ancient Greece and Rome, mainly statues, which is classical. "Old masters" refers to great European painters producing high quality work from a much later period than classical art, roughly from the start of the Renaissance to 1800. This piffle from Brit. Soc. Ass. - the home of political correctness - proves that sociologists are plonkers.
