Art Shows Erosion
Retired coastal engineer Dr Robin McInnes has assessed the accuracy of geological and topological features in more than 400 paintings depicting the coastlines of the Isle of Wight and Hampshire. Here's the painting that stirred his interest: William Dyce's Pegwell Bay, Kent - a recollection of October 5th 1858, which he observed in Tate Britain.
