Camden Arts Centre

Left: Andro Wekua - My Bike and your swamp (yesterday) 4 (2008); right: Daan van Golden - Buddha (1971-73)Last Friday the Camden Arts Centre opened two new shows to befuddle the proletariat. It will teach those ghetto dwellers to appreciate contemporary art, whether they like it or not. Both shows are by foreign imports who should have stayed at home. For each it his first solo show in the UK. On the left is a depressing installation by Andro Wekua: My Bike and your swamp (yesterday) 4 (2008). On the right is a more promising child-like Buddha (1971-73) by Daan van Golden, using tempera and dried flowers on canvas. The best thing about both shows is that they are free. They run until 8 February 2009. Click the title link for the Camden Arts Centre website, which is a pain. I'm so bored with those soppy icons whizzing around in black squares while something loads that I press either the STOP button or the BACK arrow. Fast! Webmasters, you have 4 seconds.
