Elizabeth Bouguereau

You might think this charming portrait of A Young Girl holding a Basket of Grapes is by William-Adolphe Bouguereau. Close. The American artist Elizabeth Jane Gardner studied under Bouguereau and married him. One of my successes on Wikipedia was to persuade a feminist editor to allow "Elizabeth Bouguereau" to be added as a cross-reference to Elizabeth Gardner, so the entry could be found under both names (title link). The feminist kept deleting my entry, because she thought Elizabeth's married name was unimportant. I kept editing and arguing until she accepted the logic of my entry. Thanks to the UK Thought Police (next post) such edits may no longer be possible from Britain!
