Looking forward to 2011, here are some items of London art news in briefs. From June, selected pieces of the Government Art Collection will be shown at the Whitechapel Art Gallery. This is the first showing in a public gallery in the 113-year history of the collection (CLICK). The Dulwich Picture Gallery - the first purpose-built public art gallery in England - will be celebrating its 200th birthday by showing a masterpiece every month (CLICK). Tate Britain will undergo a £45m makeover starting next year and due for completion in 2013. The upper level of the building will be opened for the first time since 1927. Where's the cash coming from? Private donations have brought in £28.5m so far. Director Penelope Curtis reckons it'll be a doddle to raise the rest (CLICK).
