Kenwood House

Spring, which is supposed to be happening sometime soon in London, is the best time of year to visit Kenwood House on the edge of Hampstead Heath, because the daffodils naturalized in the lawn are a picture and the vicious midges haven't started biting yet. The parkland is by Humphry Repton. The house was restyled by Robert Adam. The Adam Library is a masterpiece in white, sky blue and gold, like Jasperware with a touch of Rococo. The Iveagh Bequest of great works of art includes Vermeer's Guitar Player (CLICK).
