Antoine Watteau

Londoners are to be treated to an Antoine Watteau festival this spring. Last month I previewed Watteau: The Drawings at the Royal Academy of Arts (CLICK). To coincide with that exhibition, The Wallace Collection will present Esprit et Vérité: Watteau and his Circle, including 12 paintings by Watteau that represent "almost" his entire career, two of them borrowed from Sir John Soane's Museum and York Art Gallery to compliment The Wallace Collection's ten.
