Ai Weiwei Shows

Ai Weiwei may be cooling his heels in Chinese choky, but his dubious works keep cropping up in London. Today his Circle of Animals / Zodiac Heads opened in the Edmond J. Safra Fountain Court of Somerset House, admission free (CLICK). Tomorrow the Lisson Gallery opens another Weiwei show, which includes these dribble-painted ancient Coloured Vases (2011) from 3,000 BC (CLICK). What concerns me is Who made Weiwei's exhibits? He employed 1,600 Chinese artists for two years to paint 150 tonnes of Sunflower Seeds with toxic lead-based paint destined for Tate Passé. Even in China, that must be BIG money. And he admits he couldn't paint a single ceramic seed when he tried. So who painted his old pots and created his Zodiac Heads? Do the art pundits care?
