Astronomy Photos 2011

Paul Kerley has produced another excellent audio slide show for BBC News, subject winning photos from the Astronomy Photographer of the Year competition, run by the Royal Observatory Greenwich and Sky at Night magazine. It runs for 8 minutes (title link). Above is the overall winner: Jupiter with lo and Ganymede (2010) captured with technical wizardry by Damian Peach from the UK. There are many stunning images to view from all over the world, both in the slide show and on the National Maritime Museum website (CLICK). The free exhibition at the Royal Observatory Greenwich opened today and continues until 12 February 2012.
