Thames Pageantry

BBC News Magazine has posted a musical slide show produced by Paul Kerley showing a history of Pomp and Pageantry on the Thames, in anticipation of the 2012 Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant this Sunday (CLICK). Much of it is based on the National Maritime Museum's current exhibition Royal River: Power, Pageantry and the Thames (CLICK). Additions include photos of some of the boats that will be in tomorrow's pageant and diagrams showing bridge closures. Anyone who tries to drive into central London tomorrow is deluded. As for pedestrians, heavy rain is forecast. Cold, wet and windy; sounds like a great day for being a couch potato. Wave your Union Jacks at the TV, if you feel so inclined.
