Sweep Out

They protest here,
They protest there;
They protest against
Corruption everywhere.
This row of brooms with black ties on Copacabana beach, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is a detail of Rio de Paz's protest art installation thingy symbolising the need to Sweep Out corruption in the Brazilian senate. There are 81 brooms to represent the number of senators in Brazil. Remember, Rio de Janeiro is the city chosen to host the next Summer Olympiad. Judging by the number of empty seats in London that sports fans wanted to fill and the number of tickets on the black market, the International Olympic Committee needs to get its house in order before Rio 2016. Bestowing a surplus of tickets on Olympic officials and participating countries encourages corruption. Sweep it out, IOC.
