Deutsche Borse Prize

It seems you don't even need to use a camera to win the Deutsche Borse photography prize, worth £30,000. You just grab some "found images" and cobble them together. On Monday British collagist John Stezaker was awarded the prize for his exhibition at London's Whitechapel Gallery earlier this year. Shown is his Betrayal XVIII. Idiotic quote of the week comes from Brett Rogers, director of The Photographers' Gallery: "The Jury recognized John Stezaker's outstanding achievement spanning a period of more than thirty years, exploring the subversive force of the found image" (CLICK). Give me strength! You can see John's rubbish at The Photographers' Gallery until 9 September. Don't bother, is my advice.
