Rothko Tagged

This afternoon one of Mark Rothko's Seagram murals in Tate Passé was tagged by a visitor with a marker pen! He then walked out, leaving witnesses to inform the gallery. The police were called. They are looking for someone called Vladimir. Very dribbly marker pen. Rothko was commissioned to paint the Seagram murals in 1958 for Manhattan's Four Seasons restaurant, but they were never installed, presumably because the restaurateur thought they would put his customers off their fish and chips. Rothko donated some of the murals to the Tate Gallery shortly before his death in 1970 (CLICK). He committed suicide.
