Dickens Museum

Recognize him? It's Charles Dickens aged 29, a 19th Century lithographic print from a lost portrait of the author made in 1841 (CLICK for more pictures). As a legacy for the Dickens bicentenary in 2012, the Charles Dickens Museum at 48 Doughty Street, Bloomsbury, London, has been given a £3.1m makeover. It is the only surviving home of Dickens and his family. This beautifully restored museum reopens to the public on 10 December (CLICK). BBC London's Brenda Emmanus took a peek with a camera crew in tow (CLICK).
