Mexico at RA
I have the feeling that the big art galleries and museums in London are becoming increasingly desperate to find something that will titillate the punters. We have gay porn at the ICA, Japanese porn coming up at The British Museum, two shows of African tosh at Tate Passé plus a giant curtain of African bling at the Royal Academy of Arts. On 6 July the RA opens Mexico: A Revolution in Art, 1910-1940. Shown is Diego Rivera's colourful yet naive Baile in Tehuantepec (Dance in Tehuantepec) from 1928. The show is in The Sackler Wing of Galleries, Burlington House. Entry costs £10 or £9 for silver surfers (CLICK).
