Demetre's Finale

This beautiful art deco patinated bronze and carved ivory sculpture comes up for grabs in Bonhams' 20th Century Decorative Arts Sale in London on 26 November. The Finale (c. 1928) by Demetre Chiparus depicts a curtain call by dancers of The Ballet Russes. The male dancer flanked by two ballerinas is thought to be the famous Nijinsky, star of The Ballet Russes. The sculpture is estimated to be worth from £200,000 to £300,000 (CLICK).
