Let's face it, the KGB wasn't known for its humanitarianism. In his 16 years as an officer of the KGB, Vladimir Putin rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He retired in 1991 to enter politics and turn Russia into his own Mafia state (CLICK). Don't tell me he actually believes the Assad regime's denials about using sarin nerve gas (CLICK). He's just playing politics to support a good customer for Russian military hardware. And to hell with Assad's victims.
