Brain Scans

Here's an interesting graphic showing the differences between male (left) and female (right) brains. Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania scanned the brains of nearly 1,000 men, women and children and traced these differences in "connectome maps". Male brains are wired with few connections bridging the two hemispheres, while female brains criss-cross between the left and right hemispheres (CLICK). What does it mean? Men and women are different! We all knew that, but putting brain differences into this visual context does make one think. For a start, where do hermaphrodites fit into this pattern? And what about those people who are convinced they're in the wrong-sex body? Fascinating.
