Two Beauties

The National Portrait Gallery in London is currently showing free displays of two renowned beauties. The first is Starring Vivien Leigh: A Centenary Celebration (Room 33, CLICK) which explores her acting career with over 50 portraits, focusing on her Oscar-winning role in Gone With the Wind (1939). This photo shows her in the role of Scarlett O'Hara. The second beauty is Janey Morris: Pre-Raphaelite Muse (Room 28, CLICK). Jane Burden, wife of William Morris, was the Pre-Raphaelite model. You might be surprised to learn she was also a talented embroiderer in the Arts & Crafts movement. She died on 26 January 1914.
