Historic Teapots

This limp-wristed "Aesthetic" Teapot (1882) by Royal Worcester mocks the excessive taste of the Aesthetic movement in the late 19th century. It's one of the Hanley Collection of Teapots, comprising 105 pieces spanning 200 years of historic teapots from the early 18th century to 20th century. The collection comes up for grabs in Sotheby’s London auction of Arts of Europe on 15 May (CLICK).
