Paul Nash Retro

Today Piano Nobile in London marked the centenary of the outbreak of World War I with Paul Nash: Watercolours, 1910-1946 Another Life, Another World, tracing his art from pre-war landscape watercolours, through the dark days as official war artist which began in 1917 and transformed his art, to his death in 1946. He was in the thick of it on the Western Front in the Ypres Salient. Shown is Shellburst, Zillebeke, 1917, made with coloured chalks on brown paper. CLICK to learn more.
