Paul Gauguin's Nafea Faa Ipoipo or When Will You Marry? (1892) has become the most expensive painting ever sold, at nearly $300 million (£197m). Details are vague. It was sold by a Swiss collector, broker unknown, to an anonymous buyer. The rumour is that it was sold to a museum in Qatar.
