Surreal Things at V&A

Salvador Dali and Edward James - Mae West Lips Sofa (1938)Surrealism managed to be mildly disturbing but cosy at the same time, as evinced by Mae West's lips from 1938. I'm still waiting for a sofa designed to the pout of young Bridget Bardot's lips. Aw...wow! Surreal Things: Surrealism and design at the V&A explores the influence of Surrealism by bringing together "300 of the most extraordinary objects ever created, in a spectacular theatrical setting." It opens 29 March and continues until 22 July 2007. Admission £9, silver surfers £7 (77%), students/12-17 year-olds/ES40 holders £5. Why should whippersnappers and unemployed layabouts (ES40 holders) get a better deal than hardworking, impoverished silver surfers? Click the title link to complain!
