Wot No Banksy?

A 25ft-long mural by Banksy on the side of garages in Bristol has been obliterated by council graffiti-removal contractors. Bristol City Council is hopping mad. It's demanded an investigation into the cock-up and has ordered all Banksy works in the city to be preserved. At least one local resident has made his feelings known by daubing "Wot No Banksy?" on the vandals' coat of paint. So much for graffiti removal! This follows a similar disaster at a London station. Isn't it time we sent all our graffiti-removal men on art courses at Goldsmiths College? Maybe not. They'd end up even more confused about what art is or isn't.
