Indian Artists Protest

A Sadhu in his TentArtists in Mumbai and other Indian cities are demonstrating against "moral policing" by Hindu Fundamentalists. Recently, art student Chandra Mohan had his artwork vandalised because it depicted naked men. As if this wasn't enough, he was then arrested by the police on an obscenity charge! Look at the naked nutter in the above picture. This is a sadhu - a traditional Hindu holy man - who wears nothing but a coating of ash. How can Hindus complain about paintings of naked men while their own sadhus wander along the High Street in the buff? Silly question, Coxsoft. You can't expect logic from religious lunatics. Hypocrisy is their game.

I wonder if that hypocrisy has been pointed out or defended?

Wow! I've only just posted this blog. It feels like you were looking over my shoulder!
Er...I'm not sure what you mean. I've just pointed it out with regard to this Hindu Fundamentalist nonsense which Indian artists are complaining about. It's up to someone else to try to defend it, if that's possible.
There's a nutty group in the USA: clothe our naked animals! Maybe Hindus should start a similar group: clothe our naked sadhus. When all their sadhus are wearing loincloths, then they can start complaining about naked men in art without being hypocritical.

Ah. Right. Maybe they could let them remove their loincloths for the big annual dip in the Ganges, when all their ash and sins get washed off. I mean, who wants a soggy loincloth?
