Javier Bravo

Javier Bravo - Happiness Is SlaverySpeakie de EspaƱol? Don't worry. You don't need to, because it has an English page (title link). El Merchant is a Spanish arts website promoting contemporary artists. Its Top Ten Artists arrived in my inbox this morning. Javier Bravo's Happiness Is Slavery is one of the most evocative images I've seen in months. Well worth a look.

Glad you like it. It's a real stunner. All those little hands trying to find a way out! Strangely, the work within the eggshells is really subtle - maybe airbrush work - to get that graded thickness. This is one of very few modern paintings I'd like to see on display, so I can look closely at the detail.
Not sure about the title. Maybe it lost something in the translation.
