Mexican Flowers $4m
If you appreciate naive art, you may enjoy this attractive example: Flowers of Mexico by Alfredo Ramos Martínez. It fetched $4 million at a recent Christie's New York evening sale of Latin American Art, a record for the artist. My favourite naive painter remains the Brazilian artist Edivaldo. I loved the Mexican Flowers. Oh, I really love this one… so delicate with the pen and ink and touches of color… you really captured the sweetness of the little bouquet… I love simplicity on a page.
