Picturing Health

Any excuse to show an illustration by Norman Rockwell. Before the Shot (injection) from 1958 shows a boy dubiously inspecting his doctor's diploma while the syringe is being filled. Picturing Health: Norman Rockwell and the Art of Illustration opened yesterday at the Florence Griswold Museum in Old Lyme, Connecticut, USA. Rockwell's masterpieces are paired with works by contemporary illustrators, a novel idea. I previewed this show a month ago (title link).
