The Golden Snail

Snail Shell derived from the Golden SectionFive months ago I posted a brief introduction to The Golden Section, long considered the ideal - even divine - proportion (CLICK). I was requested to add to my graphic the spiral snail's shell, but couldn't be bothered. I drew one years ago for the Atari ST, and all that antialiasing to smooth the curves is a pain. But here it is, der goldene Schnitt, found on a Jerry website (title link). I've recoloured it to emphasize the snail. See what I mean about the need for antialiasing? The website deals with proportions in art and has interesting examples, including one from Hildegard von Bingen (CLICK).
