Infrared Reflectogram
The National Gallery, London, has posted an infrared reflectogram of Leonardo da Vinci's beautiful The Virgin of the Rocks on its website. This technical do-dad allows a sort of X-ray of what lies under the visible painting. The Gallery claims to have discovered all sorts of goodies, but they're not obvious to me. All I saw was a poor quality, fuzzy, black and white photo. Click the title link to have a look. Maybe your monitor is bigger and better than mine. To see a larger graphic of this painting, CLICK.
