Stuckists' Turner Update
It seems the weekend glossies failed to fish Charles Thomson's press release out of their spam boxes. (CLICK for Friday's post.) After a diligent search of those boring and pretentious online visual art sections of The Times and The Telegraph, I finally resorted to the Stuckism website (CLICK) and found a link to 3:AM Magazine - slogan: Whatever it is, we're against it -, which has given Stuck Inn IV: Stuckists’ Turner Prize Protest Apology a full page to itself (segregation?). Click the title link for the wittiest arts read in a long time. But come off it, Charles. Admit it, you can't find anyone prepared to demonstrate in Liverpuddle, formerly our bastion of the slave trade and now being desperately rebuilt as next year's purported capital of Euro culture! I mean, what person in his right mind wants to go there? Why not demonstrate outside the Turkish embassy in London instead? But don't insult the Turkish PM!

Surprisingly enough, there were volunteers, but it didn't seem fair to ask people to go to the effort with such a lank exhibit, and it was more amusing to protest by not even bothering to protest.
I take your point. Why protest against something that's so pathetic it can't stimulate a good sneer? Bad art might warrant the odd protest, but non-art...it's like dog poo; just avoid it and walk on.
It's hard to rouse the enthusiasm, when it's so dull. The earlier post was mine, but it's come up as anon.
Charles
I assumed Anon. was you, Charles. Thanks.
