Stolen Statues
Here are two stolen sculptures on the Met. Police Statues Page (title link), both by unknown artists: 1 a naturalistic bronze resin statue of a boy sitting with a book between his bare feet (LSAD 50600 valued at £6000) and 2 a beautiful bronze statue of the goddess Diana feeding a deer (LSAD 50173 valued at £5,000). There's also a bronze sculpture of a male torso by Rodin and a monstrosity by Henry Moore stolen in 2005 and allegedly worth £10m. It's a safe bet that the Moore was stolen for its scrap value and has long since been melted down (CLICK).
