Alfred Sisley Update

Last week I promised to let you know when Sisley in England and Wales opens at the National Gallery in London (CLICK). Two months to wait: 12 November to 15 February 2009. You'll find it in the Sunley Room, admission free (title link). Although a British subject, Alfred Sisley was born in France, spent most of his life there and painted many French scenes. This exhibition brings together for the first time his paintings made on visits to England and Wales, such as his Storr Rock, Lady's Cove, evening (1897); note the human figure for scale. The price is right. Highly recommended.
