Out Of The Attic
Sir Winston Churchill never claimed to be an artist. So he gave away his daubs as keepsakes. This one - Windlesham Moor (ca 1934) - was so disliked that it was given away again and again, until it ended up in an attic, where it lay forgotten for 30 years. Its estimated value is now £150,000, thanks to auctioneer John Dickins' work in establishing its provenance.
