Blood Head Appeal

I often wonder about the sanity of those people in charge of our art institutions. Would you pay £350,000 for this gimmick: Marc Quinn's Self (2006), a self-portrait in the artist's frozen blood? The National Portrait Gallery in London would, providing it can persuade some fat cats to shell out the dosh. The Art Fund has started the ball rolling with a donation of £100,000. Groan!
