BP Portrait Award

By coincidence, here is a perfect example of why Adsense is wrong (two posts down). Today the National Portrait Gallery in London unveiled the shortlist for this year's BP Portrait Award, worth £25,000 to the winner plus a commission worth £4,000. Louis Smith is one of the three artists shortlisted for the top prize. His magnificent Holly was inspired by the ancient Greek myth of Andromeda chained to a rock as sacrifice to a sea monster. The exhibition of the best 50 entries (of 2,372) opens on 16 June, admission free. The winner will be announced on 14 June. CLICK for finalists' paintings.

Yes, I know. The blacker BP gets, the greener it wants to look.

Lots of protests outside BP's AGM today.
