Gauguin Print Record

Would you Adam and Eve it? At a recent Sotheby’s sale in London, Paul Gauguin's Crouching Tahitian Woman Seen From The Back sold for £577,250 ($924,466), setting a new auction record for a print by Gauguin. Okay, it's not an ordinary print, but a traced monotype; even so, it's a copy of a pathetic doodle. What's in a name, eh? It was one of ten Gauguin prints from the Stanley J. Seeger collection which made a total of £1.54m ($2.47m).
