Portrait Pictures

I previewed the Royal Society of Portrait Painters Annual Exhibition in April (CLICK). It opens at the Mall Galleries in London tomorrow and BBC News has posted an online gallery of some of the paintings on show (title link). Emily Port-Salmon's portrait of David Hockney (above) is excellent, though why she cut off the top of his head is beyond me. Londoners will instantly recognize Helen Masacz's portrait of a tousle-haired yobbo named Boris. There's also a new, so-so portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Well worth a visit for £2.50.
