Two Temple Place

Yesterday BBC London News posted a video of Brenda Emmanus exploring Two Temple Place, the neo-gothic mansion built to the somewhat quirky specifications of William Waldorf Astor in 1895 (CLICK). The photo shows the top of its grand staircase with beautiful carvings. After extensive refurbishment by the Bulldog Trust, the mansion has opened to the public for the first time, as an exhibition space. Its inaugural show is William Morris: Story, Memory, Myth, which runs until 29 January 2012. As regular readers of London Art News know, the William Morris Gallery closed this year for major redevelopment. What better venue for a temporary display of its treasures than Two Temple Place (title link)?
