Love and Lust

On 5 April Hampton Court Palace opens a new exhibition with a catchy title The Wild, the Beautiful and the Damned, a temporary exploration of beauty, debauchery and decadent art at the late Stuart Court (title link). The Royal Collection knows how to pull the punters in! Shown is Charles II's mistress Nell Gwyn as Venus. Also on show, together for the first time, will be Peter Lely’s "Windsor Beauties", Godfrey Kneller’s "Hampton Court Beauties" and paintings from private and public collections. Bad news, of course, is the price: £14 for adults, £12 silver surfers. Tip: On the first Monday evening of every month, you can get in for only £10. Click the title link for details.
