Shard Laser Show

Last night London's latest skyscraper The Shard, Europe's tallest building, was officially inaugurated by the Duke of York (Who? His Dodgy Highness Prince Andrew) and the Qatari prime minister (Who? Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabr Al-Thani. Oh, wish I hadn't asked). A damp squib of laser lights flickered around to the tune of Aaron Copeland's Fanfare For The Common Man (CLICK). Common Man? If this were a block of social housing, Copeland's Fanfare would have been most appropriate; but a multi-millionnaires' playground in the sky funded by the Qatar National Bank and jointly owned by the State of Qatar is an insult to the Common Man.
