Tribal Olympians

To coincide with the London Summer Olympiad, Survival International is celebrating "Tribal Olympians" with photos and details of their skills. For instance the Bajau people of Sabah, Sulawesi can free-dive down to 20 metres and hold their breath for 3 minutes when hunting underwater. They are submerged for up to 60% of the time they spend in the water, nearly as long as a sea-otter. This terrific photo by James Morgan for Survival shows 6-year-old Enal playing with his pet tawny nurse shark in a penned area of sea beneath his stilted house in Wangi Wangi, Indonesia.
