The Mughal Empire
Tomorrow The British Library in London opens Mughal India: Art, Culture and Empire (CLICK). This is the first exhibition to attempt to document the entire period of the Mughal Empire, from the 16th to the 19th centuries. More than 200 "exquisite objects" are displayed. Shown is the library banner with a detail from a Portrait of Prince Dara Shikoh (1631-32). The art is primitive and the entry prices too high: adults £9, silver surfers £7. Update: CLICK for a BBC slide show with music.
