Nicolas Lavarenne

How about some real art with a modern twist? This controversial bronze sculpture of a female nude Fluide by French artist Nicolas Lavarenne popped into my radar this week. The anatomy shows traditional excellence, although the posture is contemporary. Did the artist get a live model to pose like this? You'll find it in the southeastern French resort of Cagnes-sur-Mer, gazing out to sea. That's if the locals who are complaining about it don't persuade the mayor to have it removed.
